Rooted in a farmers-first approach, we work from the ground up to strengthen Jackson County and the surrounding region, ensure thriving agriculture, and create meaningful connections between farmers and the people they feed.
WNC From the Ground Up is proud to launch a new farmer incubation program designed to support beginning farmers as they grow their operations, build skills, and access real markets—all without the burden of startup costs.
Too often, new farmers face overwhelming barriers: limited access to land, lack of equipment, steep learning curves, and no clear path to market. Our new program helps change that.
While participating, potential new farmers will have the opportunity to learn side-by-side with knowledgeable, experienced growers—gaining insight, confidence, and real-world agricultural skills. They’ll also have access to real markets through our food hub, WNC Farm to Table, including retail, wholesale, and food security channels like HOP, MANNA, and FarmsSHARE.

Join us for an evening of fresh, local food and community at beloved Darnell Farms in Bryson City. Chef Santiago Guzzetti will craft a signature, seasonal meal highlighting the best of our region’s farms.
Celebrate the bounty of Western North Carolina and support our mission: Keeping Farmers Farming. Local Food For All.
